The story is true. One day in November, a Canadian male polar bear appeared out of the snow and walked toward a group of ten chained huskies. All the dogs barked wildly, except for one, who remained quiet and curious. Instead of hurting the dogs, the bear rolled over on its back to show the non-barking husky he wanted to be friends. It took about 20 minutes for the dog to warm up to the big bear and when it did they came together in the spirit of play. For a week the bear returned every day at the same time to play with the husky, and even brought three more bears. The enchanted moment was captured by wildlife photographer Norbert Rosling inthse amazing shots. I used the photos for reference and painted the scene.
