Dick Twinney has loved the Westcountry's wildlife and countryside for as long as he can remember. Originally from Devon, he has lived and worked in Cornwall for over 35 years.
Although his paintings, prints, collectors plates and giftware have spread worldwide and many of the books he has illustrated are American he still thinks of himself as a local artist, passionate about Cornwall, its' scenery and its' wildlife.
A real countryman, Dick always spends several hours each day in the 'field' walking with the family dogs over the moors, along the coast or in the local woods, observing wildlife in its natural habitat and seeking inspiration for his paintings.
His work appears frequently in Westcountry magazines and newspapers, especially the Cornish Guardian where he writes and illustrates the popular weekly article 'Wildlife Gallery'.
He is always happy to discuss his work and will accept commissions for countryside subjects. Dick's work is available to view at his Cornish Wildlife Art Gallery at his studio in St Columb Major. Visitors are welcome to his home and studio by arrangement.
